How to Apply

APPLICATION FOR 2022-2023 SCHOOL YEAR

Dear Parents,

Thank you for considering Saint Mary Star of the Sea School for your child. The families of children presently attending Saint Mary’s School have the opportunity to register from January 26 – January 31, 2022. Once this is completed and the number of spaces available is determined, students who have applied for the 2022-2023 school year and are on the waiting list will be offered available spaces. 

APPLICATION FOR 2023-2024 SCHOOL YEAR

We are now accepting applications for the 2023-2024 school year! 

*Before applying for our 2023-2024 school year, please note our following age cut-off dates:  Children must be 3 years of age for PreK-3 (Early Learners) and 4 years of age for PreK-4 (Junior Kindergarten) on or before the first day of school (August 21st).

Application process for new families

To apply , you will need to create an online account and complete the online application. Please select the school year you wish to apply for in the drop down menu (2022-2023 or 2023-2024). 

1. The following documents must be uploaded with the online application for all new students, with a non-refundable $100.00 application fee upon submission:

  • Recent Academic Documentation (Report card and standardized test scores) (No application will be reviewed without recent academic documentation listed above – grades 1-8)
  • Birth certificate (Required by VA House Bill 946)
  • Baptismal certificate  (Catholic students only)

2. An assessment day will be scheduled. Scheduling for new student assessments will begin February 1st. 

3. Consideration for acceptance includes:

  • Space is available in each class after current students have re-enrolled.
  • New students whose families already have siblings enrolled in the school.
  • Children from a Catholic parish, whose parents are active, supporting members of their parish. 
  • Children of non-Catholic families. 
  •  Academic records and behavior records review.

Upon acceptance, a $150 enrollment fee will be due to submit the enrollment packet and secure admission. This fee is non-refundable. More information regarding the new school year will be given at that time.
