Dear Administrators, Faculty, Staff and Families,

Congratulations on completing the 2019-2020 school year!  At the end of each school year I reflect upon the successes and challenges we faced.  The successes and challenges of this year are more intertwined than any other I can remember.  It has been a year we will never forget.

Today, Governor Northam said that our students will be back in school for the 2020-2021 school year, however, the policy presented is very extensive, 126 pages long.   We will begin reviewing the policy immediately.  Our schools have already been developing plans specific to their individual locations.  Approved plans will meet the guidelines set forth by the CDC, local health agencies, and the Commonwealth of Virginia.   Principals will share their approved plans directly with their school community.

Thank you in advance for your patience was we continue this process.  Our schools will be sharing more information as it becomes available.  A special thanks to our parents for the sacrifices they make to provide a Catholic education for their children and for recognizing the value of a faith-filled learning environment.

Yours in Christ,

Kelly M. Lazzara
Superintendent of Schools Catholic Diocese of Richmond
